What Happens At A Typical GracePointe Community Church Service?
If you aren’t used to going to church, just the process of deciding to go can be a big step. We want to make coming to GracePointe Community Church as easy as possible. We want you to feel
comfortable and welcome before you even enter the door. Below are some typical questions that people have when going to a new church.

What time does it start?
Our Sunday Service starts at 10:30 AM. Before the service, you will find many of us in the lobby area or coffee shop catching up with each other over coffee and donuts.
It’s not uncommon for people to hang out for a while before and afterwards in the coffee area if they didn’t have a chance to meet beforehand. This is a great time to get to know people and ask them about the church.

What are your sermons about?  Do you go thru the Bible verse-by-verse, or do you preach on different topics?
Generally, Pastor Scot teaches on different topics that can be applied to our daily living and increases our knowledge of and relationship with God. His sermons are practical, scripture-based, relevant messages that you can apply to the current events happening in your life. Please come and see for yourself or you can also view any of our recent sermons.

How are visitors acknowledged?  Will you make me stand up and introduce myself?
Don't worry, we will NOT make you stand up and introduce yourself. We will make a general comment during the church announcements asking any visitors to fill out a communication card if they would like us to contact them, and that's about all. Communication cards will be available near your seat and are a great way to request more information, ask for prayer, get added to our email list or tell us about any other need we might be able to help with. Feel free to fill one out and place it in the offering plate or hand it to an usher. We’d love to hear from you.

Before service, you can find ushers located at the entrances of the Worship Center handing out the Sunday Bulletins. Our ushers are available to help you get acquainted with the church’s layout, where the bathrooms are, how the nursery works, etc. and can answer any questions you might have when you arrive.

If you can't find an usher, just ask anyone around you if you have a question. You'll find that the GracePointe family is very friendly and welcoming.

I'm new to all of this, what is a Worship Center?
Many churches use the term “Sanctuary” to define the area around the church altar. Some churches may use terms such as "auditorium" or "assembly hall" - we prefer the term Worship Center.

Much in the way that a wildlife sanctuary provides a place of safety for endangered animals, our
Worship Center, or Sanctuary, provides a place of refuge from the distractions of the world. It’s a place where we can seek God and find His peace, love, wisdom, understanding, mercy, and more.

What about my child's safety/security during the service?
Here at GracePointe, nothing is more important than the safety of our little ones. Therefore, we have established security checkpoints and procedures in order to ensure the safety of your children before, during and after the service. In addition, we also run background checks on every worker who participates in our children's programs. To find out more, please see Pastor Sarah Dickman in person on Sunday morning.

What should I wear?
Whatever You Want! We believe that church should be comfortable - both in atmosphere and how you dress. You don't have to wear your "Sunday best", though some do, because that’s how they feel comfortable. Whatever you choose to wear, you’ll fit in fine because we believe that God is not concerned with your external appearance. "
For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.”         (1 Samuel 16:7)

How often do you do communion?  If I'm not a Nazarene, can I still participate?
We perform Communion just about every week. You don’t need to be a Nazarene to participate in Communion with us but we do ask that you have a relationship with Jesus Christ. If you are unsure if you should participate, please feel free to ask any staff member before the service.
